Special Events
The OSU Special Events Office provides leadership in five main areas. The first of these is Allied Arts which is the oldest university performing arts series in Oklahoma. The program has brought thousands of outstanding performances to Stillwater as a part of its mission to enrich University life and provide the University community with a broad range of top professional musical, dance and theatrical events.
The second area is the Madrigal Dinner Concerts which are produces in-house in cooperation with the OSU Music Department. For more than 30 years, the Madrigal has transported patrons back to the Great Hall of an Elizabethan castle through the use of period furnishings, costumes, food and entertainment. It continues to be the highlight of the Christmas season for many of the University community, alumni and friends.
Another important production of the Special Events Office is the Miss Oklahoma State University Scholarship Pageant. It is a preliminary for the Miss Oklahoma and Miss America Scholarship Pageants. It provides an opportunity for university female students to compete for scholarship funds on both the local and state levels. It also provides a public showcase for their talent and a forum for expounding causes that they believe in.
The Special Events Office also has oversight of the Student Government Association Speakers Board and the Orange Peel Production.
