WE GIVE YOU MORE at the Student Union Bookstore. Your books are worth more than you think. We know you have a lot of choices when selling and buying your textbooks. We only hope you will make the choice to buy them and sell them back to the one store that gives you more – in more ways than one! Student Union
Running the most comprehensive Student Union in the world does not come cheap. Fortunately, revenues from the Student Union Bookstore help with the operating costs of the more than 611,000 square foot facility. More than one million guests a year enter the doors of the historic building and by supporting the Student Union Bookstore you can ensure many more will enter for years to come.
WIFI
Twitter. Facebook. The Internet in general. These days, how many people can live without them? Not too many. The Student Union Bookstore recognized this need and helped fund the cost of wireless throughout the Student Union as well as the five e-mail kiosks on the first floor. It’s just another way we are helping keep you stay connected during your time at OSU.
Campus Life
While the Student Union Bookstore gets you ready for life in the classroom, it also supports many of the activities that occur outside of the classroom. Revenues from the Student Union Bookstore assist with administrative costs associated with running many of the student organizations housed in the Department of Campus Life. With more than 400 student organizations to choose from, students have the opportunity to experience OSU at all levels.
Orange Peel
By purchasing your textbooks and other items at the Student Union Bookstore you are helping support popular campus events like Orange Peel. For the past 13 years the Student Union Bookstore has helped with the production costs associated with the student run event. During its history, Orange Peel has given more than 2,500 students the opportunity to learn skills outside of the classroom through leadership roles and committee work.
Finals Week Pancakes
Who doesn’t love free food? Apparently OSU students do. Each semester during Finals Week students line up Monday through Thursday for a helping of hot pancakes with all of the fixings as well as free beverages. During the 2007-2008 academic year 11,432 students were served more than 34,000 pancakes. The Student Union Bookstore helps support this event that is highly anticipated each semester. We know you have a lot of choices when selling and buying your textbooks.
Lounge Spaces
Thanks to the generosity of the Student Union Bookstore, the Student Union has updated several of its lounge spaces providing comfortable areas to study, rest and relax. These spaces include the new seating area overlooking the Formal Gardens and the fourth floor areas. It’s just one more way the Student Union Bookstore brings a little bit of life to campus life!
