attention all greek discovery day registrants!!!
Due to a lack of availability of weekends on which to reschedule, Greek Discovery Day WILL be going on as scheduled. We do, however, understand that the weather will be a factor on your travel plans, so please use your own judgment on whether to attend or not. For men that are planning on NOT attending, we would like to encourage you to have your registration rolled over to Greek Discovery Day version 2.0 on May 30, 2009. If you have questions about how to do this please contact our office at 405-744-5490. For all women that plan on not attending, we would like to encourage you to keep an eye out for the Fraternity and Sorority Affairs booth when you are here for enrollment this summer. They will be able to fill you in on any information that you may have missed from not attending this event. Thank you for being understanding of the circumstances and we wish you safe travel this Saturday!
WHAT IS GREEK DISCOVERY DAY?
Greek Discovery Day is a wonderful opportunity to visit Oklahoma State University and see what fraternity and sorority life is all about! High school juniors and seniors and their parents can meet members of the OSU Greek community and learn more about the recruitment process, the benefits of Greek membership and all that’s great about “going Greek.” Current non-Greek OSU students also are welcome.
Greek Discovery Day 2009 will take place on Saturday, March 28, 2009. Our Greek letter organizations are hoping to build on the success of last year’s event, and we have planned plenty of informative, exciting programs for students and parents to enjoy.
Tentative schedule for Greek Discovery Day
| 9 a.m.-10:30 a.m. | Registration and Browse Session (Student Union Atrium) |
| 10:30-11 a.m. | Opening Session (SU Ballroom & SU Theater) |
| 11-11:30 a.m. | Men’s Recruitment Session (SU Theater) |
| 11 a.m.-noon | Women’s Recruitment Session (SU Ballroom) |
| Noon-1:15 p.m. | Lunch on Your Own* |
| 1:15-5 p.m. | Men's Chapter Tours Fraternity Chapter Houses |
| 1:15-5 p.m. | Women's Chapter Tours Sorority Chapter Houses |
| 1:30-2:45 p.m. | Parents' Session Student Union Theater |
| 2:45-3:45 p.m. | Parents' Tour All Chapter Houses |
| 5 p.m. | Rejoin your party Student Union |
*All chapter tours will begin promptly at 1:15 p.m. Please return to the location of your Recruitment Session to begin the Chapter House tours. Please do not be late or you will be unable to participate in any of the afternoon events
**Transportation will be provided to some of the men’s chapter house tours.
Are there evening events I can attend?
Yes! Greek fraternities host a number of events on Saturday night that are open to students and parents. More detailed information will be provided at Greek Discovery Day registration on the morning of the event.
Men's Greek discovery day
For those who are unable to attend Greek Discovery Day or for those that would like a second chance to look at the fraternities, we will be having the first ever Men's Greek Discovery Day on May 30, 2009! This event will be a fraternity only event and will go through the same schedule (times may vary) as the original Greek Discovery Day. As more details become available, they will be updated both here and on the "Recruitment" page. Be looking for an official itinerary in the coming weeks!
