Service-Learning Volunteer Center
Our Mission:
To provide leadership for Oklahoma State University students by offering interactive and meaningful service-learning activities, providing research opportunities and connecting with society to promote the general welfare of its citizens.
About Us:
Since its inception in 1984, the Service-Learning Volunteer Center continues to enrich lives of our community members through intergenerational and interpretive service projects. It is only through the exceptional spirit of volunteerism at Oklahoma State University that the SLVC records immense success in its programs and activities. With approximately 100,000 hours of community service, we continue to set and reach new goals.
The SLVC works in three major areas volunteerism, service-learning, and civic engagement. For more information about our office and services we provide, please view our Guide to Volunteering.
Service and Civic Engagement form one of the six pillars of the OSU Experience. To stay updated with the latest information on current projects and volunteer opportunities, check out our blog. You must record your individual and group hours on CampusLink.
Apply for the CORD!
The Service-Learning Volunteer Center has found a way to creatively recognize our outstanding OSU Cowboys as they graduate - rewarding students with the CORD.
Upon graduation, undergraduates who have served 400 hours of community service (40 through the SLVC) qualify for an honorary orange cord, which symbolizes their commitment to service. This cord will be worn during graduation. Graduate students qualify if they’ve served 300 hours, 30 of which are through the SLVC.
Application found on Forms and Downloads.
