Director 1 on 1!

Director Responsibilities: Programming
Major: Zoology
Year: Junior
Hometown: Edmond, Ok.
Why I wanted to be a Camp Cowboy Director:
One of the most crucial steps in a college student's life is the ones
they take during their freshman year. If it was not for the
opportunities that were presented to me during my first year, I do not
feel that I would have succeeded to the extent that I wanted. I want to
help others in the same way that I was helped through being a director
for Camp Cowboy. I want to give back the same opportunities that were
given to me by being a part of a team that will inspire students to love
their college experience as much as I do.
What do I hope to accomplish as a Camp Cowboy Director?
I want to have a camp that is geared toward getting students and staff
excited to be OSU Cowboys! I want this year's Camp Cowboy to be newer
and more excited than ever before! We can all do this by creating a fun
atmosphere for everyone to participate in. I also feel that it is
important to have a place for students to connect with each other while
also learning what it takes to have a successful experience in college.
I think that through this we can teach students that college can be a
lot of hard work, but there is always room having fun and enjoying your
time in college.
Favorite Camp Cowboy Memories:
Through the two years that I participated in Camp Cowboy I got a
plethora of wonderful experiences. It is filled with so many memories
that picking between them is very difficult. I will always remember the
fun times at the lake fighting over the canoe or learning how to "flow"
from the OSU basketball team. But in the end, the lasting experiences
that will stay with me will always be the new friendships that I made at
Camp Cowboy.

Director Responsibilities: Staffing
Major: Agribusiness Pre-Law
Year: Junior
Hometown: Tulsa, Ok.
Why I wanted to be a Camp Cowboy Director:
I wanted to be a Camp Cowboy Director because I have absolutely fallen in love with Camp Cowboy. The friendships I made as a camper and as a staff member have lasted all throughout college and have proved to be so rewarding. Camp was able to ease the transition from high school to college because I now had so many new friends on campus. As a camper, I remember looking up to the staff members in awe and when it was my turn to serve on staff, I could only hope to be that person for someone else. The Director position is one more opportunity for me to alleviate some of the fears that the incoming freshmen have (as did I) pertaining to camp, school, extracurriculars, and the entire college experience.
What do I hope to accomplish as a Camp Cowboy Director?
As a Director, I hope to instill my love for Oklahoma State University in as many people as possible: campers, staffers, classmates, EVERYONE! I know some people are unsure about their decision to attend camp, and I just want them to know that it was one of the most rewarding and FUN weekends of my life. In addition to meeting wonderful people and learning the OSU traditions, the weekend of Camp Cowboy was an absolute blast. I truly want everyone to have the most fun possible and leave camp feeling prepared for, and almost more importantly, super pumped about, the impending great journey which is college at OSU.
Favorite Camp Cowboy memories:
Just one?! Camp Cowboy has provided me with some of my best memories from college so it’s hard to only pick one. Conversations around the camp fire, both serious and hilarious, are some pretty vivid and cherished memories for me. But I think my favorite thing about Camp is seeing everyone’s passion for Oklahoma State and how much pride they take in their school. It gives the campers a desire to succeed and the drive to motivate others.

Director Responsibilities: Registration/Operations
Major: Business Management & Finance
Year: Sophomore
Hometown: Edmond, Oklahoma
Why I wanted to be a Camp Cowboy Director:
I wanted to be a director for Camp Cowboy because it is a rewarding experience to be able to ease the transition to college for incoming freshmen. I was a camper two summers ago and through that experience I learned important information for surviving college that I still use today. I also met so many fun people before I even set foot on the campus of Oklahoma State. Last summer I worked on staff and had a chance to meet new freshmen and talk to them about transitioning to college and the importance of involvement, time management, and meeting new people. Camp Cowboy helped me in my transition to college and I truly believe that Camp Cowboy is one of the best and most helpful programs Oklahoma State has to offer.
What do I hope to accomplish as a Camp Cowboy Director?
As a Camp Cowboy director this year I hope to accomplish a successful summer full of fun camps but most importantly I want the campers to have a wonderful, informational and exciting time at camp. Ultimately, I hope that campers take something away from camp that will help him or her in their time at Oklahoma State.
Favorite Camp Cowboy memories:
I have so many wonderful memories from Camp Cowboy. I would have to say that my best Camp Cowboy memories were from the session where I was a camper. Everything was a surprise and it was so fun to be able to meet so many people and get to know older college students. Many of the people I met at Camp Cowboy I am still friends with today. I am looking forward to Directing Camp Cowboy this summer so I can share the fun of Oklahoma State University with numerous incoming freshmen.

Director Responsibilities: Marketing/Sponsorship
Major:Finance/International Business
Year: Junior
Hometown: Tulsa , Ok
Why I wanted to be a Camp Cowboy Director:
I wanted to become a Camp Cowboy Director because I bleed ORANGE. Camp Cowboy is a great tradition and I wanted to be a part in instilling cowboy spirit in each incoming freshmen. Over the last two years I have been apart of the staff of Camp Cowboy and I personally seen the effects that the staff makes on each new freshman. Being a staff member just wasn’t enough for me and now I plan on improving Camp Cowboy and building new traditions.
What do I hope to accomplish as a Camp Cowboy Director?
As the Marketing director I hope to improve the advertisement of Camp Cowboy by personally reaching out to each freshman. I think many freshmen go without ever hearing about the opportunity to attend Camp Cowboy, and personally find it my duty to get the word out. I also would like to improve sponsorship and donations, so that campers can find out more about the surrounding community.
Favorite Camp Cowboy memories:
My best memory from camp cowboy was all the wonderful skits put on by the Camp Wranglers. I don’t think I have ever laughed so hard in my life.
