Dear Fellow Oklahoma NAFSANS,

I am pleased to announce that Northeastern State University – Broken Arrow will be the host of the 2010 State NAFSA meeting to be held Thursday, April 1, 2010.  The NSU-BA Campus is beautiful with lots of free parking!  Registration and a continental breakfast will be from 8:30 am – 9:30 pm with the meeting beginning at 9:30 am and ending at 3:00 pm.

We will be offering a free informal beginner’s training the day before (Wednesday March 31st) at NSU-BA from 3:00pm – 6:00 pm.  This was so successful last year that Regina Henry agreed to do it again this year.  Even we old-timers learned a lot! 

Also invited to our State Meeting are immigration attorneys and Tulsa area High School DSO’s as this will be a year of big changes for everyone due to SEVIS II.

Once again we are privileged to have representatives from the Student Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) from Washington DC.  They will do two presentations; one on SEVP updates recertification, OPT etc. and the second on SEVIS II.  They have requested that if you have any questions, it would be helpful for you to submit them in advance.  You may submit your questions directly to me at dklingha@tulsacc.edu. 

The deadline for submissions is March 26th. 

We have reserved a block of 50 rooms at the Holiday Inn Express and Suites at Bass Pro, 2201 N. Stone Wood Circle, Broken Arrow, OK 74012.  The hotel is located in a new area with Bass Pro and lots of shops and restaurants.  To get to the Holiday Inn Express, take the 161st Street exit off the Broken Arrow Expressway (aka Highway 51.)  It is only a 15 minute drive to NSU-BA.  The discounted rate is $81.00.
