November 2010 bookstore Renderings
A look at the first floor of the proposed Bookstore. This particular view is from the west looking back toward east. The new retail area will encompass textbooks, spirit merchandise, Clinique, a technology area, a copy center and so much more.
 
Another view of the first floor of the proposed Bookstore. The renovation allows the Union to be opened up and includes many windows for natural lighting.
 
June 2010 Renderings
An interior view of the new Campus Life area.  Campus Life will be relocated from the basement of the Student Union to a more visible area on the northeast end of the second floor.
 
As with the former Campus Life area, student organizations will have desk space but it will be a more open area so students can better interact with one another in an open forum.
 
Another view of the student organization area.  There will be a lot more casual, flexible space as well.
 
A view of one of the dining spaces in the expanded food court.  The food court will have a number of dining options including franchised and self-operating concepts.
 
A lounge area off the food court will provide much needed expanded seating.
 
A view of the north side plaza area between the Classroom Building and the Student Union. This area will have patio seating as well an plenty of space for outdoor programming for student organizations.

Preliminary CONCEPTUAL Renderings
A view from the northwest corner of the Union.  The north side will feature a lot of windows allowing for more natural light as well as a view of the new plaza area. During the information gathering process, many students commented they wanted a more open, well-lit gathering space.
 
A view from the northeast corner of the Union overlooking the plaza area. In the plaza area there will be outdoor space allotted for student organization programming.
 
Another view from the northeast corner.  The renovation will include a significant amount more of outdoor seating which was the request of many during the initial research.

The seating area will provide the perfect venue for outdoor events and other programming opportunities.
 
Another perspective from the northwest corner.  The spiral staircase will allow for entrance into the Union from both the first and second floors.  The area within the staircase replicates the round architecture of the popular west porch.
