University Store Partners with OSU-Tulsa
For OSU Tulsa students, Stillwater just got a little closer. The University Store, located at Oklahoma State University’s main campus in Stillwater, and OSU-Tulsa recently announced a partnership to provide improved bookstore services to OSU-Tulsa students and faculty. This partnership provides a transition to a more convenient bookstore experience for OSU-Tulsa students as it will provide access to a greater selection of products, textbooks, graduation regalia, apparel and other OSU-branded items.
“College students throughout the nation are increasingly purchasing their textbooks online because of the convenience and pricing,” said Kevin Holmes, assistant vice president of budget and finance for OSU-Tulsa. “We believe this move will better serve our students as they work to balance college life with full-time jobs and family responsibilities.”
OSU-Tulsa students can now purchase textbooks for all of their Tulsa, Stillwater and online classes through the University Store website at shopokstate.com. In addition, OSU-Tulsa students can purchase their graduation essentials, including caps and gowns, announcements and diploma frames, directly from the University Store. The store also offers textbook rentals, often a cheaper alternative to purchasing textbooks, for select courses on shopokstate.com. This new partnership features daily order deliveries from the University Store to OSU-Tulsa’s campus via the Big Orange Bus OSU shuttle system. This allows students at OSU-Tulsa to conveniently pick up their online orders from shopokstate.com at the North Hall Lobby free of charge. Most orders are processed within one to two business days and will be placed on the shuttle to OSU-Tulsa the same day they are processed. OSU-Tulsa students can access the University Store by visiting shopokstate.com or visiting the University Store link under the “Student Life” tab at tulsa.okstate.edu.
Using shopokstate.com for textbooks is advantageous for OSU-Tulsa students for a variety of reasons. Students can find textbooks for all their OSU-Tulsa or Stillwater courses online in one place. Students can also see a list of required textbooks for each course by simply logging into shopokstate.com with their student OKEY credentials. Additionally, students can charge up to $1,500 for textbooks on their OSU Bursar account. Lastly, the University Store prides itself in offering competitive pricing and a larger selection over competitors every semester to meet students’ needs.
“The University Store works directly with OSU faculty to ensure the University Store has the books and materials they need to be successful,” said Kassidy Conway, e-commerce manager for the University Store. “The best part of shopping with us, is every purchase directly benefits OSU students and services. We are so happy to bring this to OSU-Tulsa and its students and faculty members.”
At the end of each semester, the University Store will provide a location at the Tulsa campus for its textbook buyback program. This program allows students to sell select textbooks back to the University Store for cash. Students will get an email toward the end of each semester with a list of which textbooks they are able to sell back. Information regarding when and where textbook buybacks happen each semester will be posted at universitystore.okstate.edu or on the OSU Student Union’s Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat and Twitter accounts (@osuunion). Students and faculty are also encouraged to follow the OSU Student Union social media accounts for information regarding the University Store, including sales and promotions.
The University Store goes beyond the classroom. When customers shop at the University Store, 100 percent of the purchases benefit Oklahoma State University and its students. Oklahoma State University owns and operates the store and every purchase made in the University Store stays on campus to fund student programs and services, helping to keep student fees to a minimum.
